Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency has full- and part-time openings for a Non-Medical Home Care/Personal Care Aide. The Non-Medical Home Care/Personal Care Aide is responsible for providing in-home services to clients as indicated on the client’s individual service plans while assisting clients in achieving short and long-term goals.

Duties include:

  • Supporting patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands
  • Assisting patients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, incontinence care, and grooming
  • Helping the patient use their cane or walker, special utensils to eat, special techniques, and equipment for personal hygiene
  • Recording patient information by making entries in the patient journal and notifying the supervisor of changing or unusual conditions
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment
  • Protecting the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and understand written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and supervisor
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and valid car insurance
  • Physically able to perform lifting, bending, standing, and other duties related to in-home aid

The successful applicant must be over 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED (required), and possess a minimum of 6+ months (preferred) of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors (preferred).
