On Sept. 21, staff and leadership representing Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) joined with local and city officials to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Go Route’s five new bus shelters.

Located at several high-traffic areas within the city of McMinnville, these new bus shelters provide safe, comfortable, and high-visibility waiting areas for individuals using the Go Upper Cumberland public transportation route.

The new shelters are located at Cascade Avenue, East End Drive, East Main at Beersheba Towers, Milner Recreation Center, and Riverfront Park. On Tuesday, representatives of UCHRA along with local elected officials came together to celebrate a ribbon-cutting at the Milner Recreation Center bus shelter.

“We are excited to be able to offer these new shelters to our clients,” said Holly Montooth, UCHRA Public Transportation Director. “This project wouldn’t have been possible without the support and assistance of the City of McMinnville and Warren County and we are so grateful for the work these teams have done to bring this project to life.”

“So much of what we do is in support of the cities and communities we serve and we couldn’t do what we do without their support in return,” said Mark Farley, UCHRA Executive Director. “As we celebrate two years of inner-city bus service, we want to thank the city and county for their support in making this route so successful.”

The new shelters will feature way-finding maps and signage to help riders navigate the local route system. The cost to ride is $1 per trip, with half-price fares for veterans, disabled residents, and seniors 60 and older. Frequent riders can purchase a one-day pass for unlimited rides for $3 or a monthly pass for $25 that includes 30 rides.
