The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) is currently accepting applications for a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Coordinator. The CPRS Coordinator will support individuals in early recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders by providing peer-based recovery support services. The CPRS will utilize their lived experience to promote recovery while providing person-centered recovery support, community outreach, public speaking, and transportation services.
Duties:
- Peer Support: Provide one-on-one and group support, assist with recovery plans, connect clients to self-help groups, and offer guidance under clinical supervision.
- Outreach: Engage communities in recovery efforts and participate in events to promote recovery resources.
- Public Speaking: Share personal recovery experiences to reduce stigma and advocate for recovery services.
- Transportation: Provide transportation to clients for treatment, recovery meetings, and other essential appointments, when necessary.
- Administration: Document activities, conduct intakes, collaborate with team members, attend training, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Two years of continuous sobriety and demonstrated recovery and knowledge of local recovery resources.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel within the Upper Cumberland Region having flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet client needs.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email, Google Suite).
- Ability to work independently and in a team with a high sense of professionalism and responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience: The successful application will possess a high school diploma or GED, a TDMHSAS CPRS certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire, a valid driver’s license with F endorsement before hire, and complete public transportation operator training within a specified time frame.
