The CHANCE Transitional School at Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency has an opening for a School Nutrition Program Manager. The School Nutrition Program Manager oversees the daily operations of the Child Nutrition Program(CNP) at the CHANCE Transitional School. The role is responsible for meal prep, planning, monitoring and oversight to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

Duties include:

  • Lead day-to-day food service operations, ensuring quality meals and safety/sanitation
  • Ensure compliance with the USDA Meal Pattern Plan, follow menus/recipes approved by the Department of Education/School Nutrition Program
  • Assist with orders, inventory, and other reports to the Program Director as requested
  • Ensure food items are stored according to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
  • Cooperate with health officials to support all local and state public health laws and codes.
  • Observe tray assembly to ensure foods are properly portioned and meet requirements, and are attractively arranged
  • Participate in all required training and work closely with the Director to ensure coordination between all programs

Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge of all aspects of food handling, preparation, cooking, and nutrition
  • Demonstrate professional ethics and effective leadership
  • Effective planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and orally
  • Basic computer/technology proficiency to analyze reports and accomplish tasks
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license with F endorsement
  • Complete an extensive background check and fingerprinting.
  • Pass a TN DOT physical, unless otherwise identified
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to eight hours and exert 20-50 pounds of force on a regular basis

The successful applicant will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in food preparation and food service. A food safety certificate and/or nutrition certificate are preferred.
