The Cannon County UCHRA office has been selected as the latest quarterly recipient of funding from 100 Women Who Care – Cannon County, receiving a generous award of $8,200 to support services benefiting local residents.

100 Women Who Care is a philanthropic group that meets quarterly to support nonprofit organizations serving Cannon County. Organizations must first be nominated by a current member who recognizes the value and impact of their work. Cannon UCHRA was honored to be nominated by the Cannon County Food Bank President and the local CASA Director.

Following the nomination process, agencies present their mission and community impact at a public meeting, after which members vote to determine the quarter’s funding recipient. Representing Cannon UCHRA, Amber Milligan and Cortlind McCutcheon shared an overview of the agency’s programs and the many ways it supports individuals and families throughout the county.

After presentations from all nominated organizations, members selected Cannon UCHRA to receive the quarterly award. The $8,200 contribution will directly support programs and services that assist Cannon County residents in need. Additionally, the award carries the potential for a 50 percent match from a private funder at a later date, increasing the overall community impact.

Cannon UCHRA extends its sincere appreciation to 100 Women Who Care and to those who nominated the agency for their confidence and support.
