Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency has an opening for a Juvenile Intervention Services Case Officer to serve Macon, Smith, and Trousdale counties. The Juvenile Intervention Case Officer will be responsible to the Program Director for carrying out the assigned functions of the program as those functions relate to client assessment, supervision, and referral.
Duties include:
- Conduct outreach efforts to increase awareness of project merits as an alternative to State Custody
- Prepare a Behavioral contract based on an assessment of need and per the Judge’s Order
- Supervise and monitor the activities of clients to ensure adherence to established goals
- Provide family counseling, assistance with decision-making, future plans, and problem-solving
- Maintain records and submit reports promptly
- Conduct home visits as appropriate per level of assigned clients, at a minimum of once per month
- Administer drug tests and prepare a specimen for testing, responsible for chain of custody
- File proper violations and prepare recommendations to be made upon court appearance
- Supervise school attendance, records, and grades
- Other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Director
Qualifications:
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
- Ability to evaluate situations and make appropriate decisions
- Ability to counsel clients in life-related areas
- Excellent computer skills
- Able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid Tennessee driver’s license
The successful applicant will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or have at least four (4) years of qualifying full-time professional experience as per TCA 40-28-604.
